Youngstown is a city located in Mahoning county in Ohio, on the Mahoning River, 65 miles southeast of Cleveland, Ohio, and approximately 62 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The Steel Valley Area as a whole (including Youngstown-Warren and Sharon-Farrell-New Castle, PA) comprises almost 720,000 residents. Youngstown is the county seat of Mahoning County. The city is just 10 miles west of the Pennsylvania state line, and is centrally located between New York and Chicago.
